Frequently asked questions
What do I need to get started?
Just a browser. Open the web page on both the display PC and your computer. If you often cast from your own computer, you can also add the Chrome extension.
Do both computers need to be on the same network?
No, they only need internet access. On the same network they usually connect directly for a smoother picture. Some campus or corporate networks block peer-to-peer connections. See troubleshooting.
Can I cast from a phone or tablet?
Phone and tablet browsers usually cannot share the screen, so they cannot be the presenter. They can be the receiver, though, and display what others cast.
Can I share sound?
Yes. In Chrome or Edge, check "Share audio" when choosing what to share. Firefox and Safari cannot share audio yet.
How do I stop others from casting to my display?
In the receiver settings, choose "On-screen PIN" so presenters must enter the 4-digit code shown on the display, or "Ask to accept" so every cast must be approved on the receiver.
What if the display PC has no keyboard or mouse?
Put the cast ID and connection mode in the URL and have the computer open it at boot. See auto-start on boot.
Can I install it as an app?
Yes. In Chrome or Edge, click "Install app" to open it in its own window; you will also be notified when a new version is available. See Install as an app.
